Xiaomi Smarter Living 2024: Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has launched four new smart products at its 24th edition of the Smarter Living event. These are the Redmi Pad SE tablet, Redmi Buds 5A wireless earbuds, Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Cleaner S10, and Handheld Garment Steamer, the last of which comes as part of Xiaomi's Smartphone X AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) strategy.
The biggest talking point from the Smarter Living event is Redmi's budget-friendly Android tablet – the Pad SE. The tablet comes in three configurations in India: base 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB, priced at Rs 12,999, Rs 13,999, and Rs 14,999, respectively. Also, ICICI card holders can avail of an instant Rs 1,000 bank discount, bringing its starting price down to Rs 11,999. The Redmi Pad SE will go on sale today (April 24) through Amazon, Flipkart, and Xiaomi’s offline and online stores.
Features-wise, the Redmi Pad SE gets an 11-inch WUXGA LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, up to 400 nits of peak brightness, and TUV Rheinland low blue light certification. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 680 SoC processor with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC5.1 storage. The storage is expandable by up to 1 TB through a microSD card. As expected, the Pad SE runs on an Android 13-based MIUI Pad 14 system. However, a HyperOS update will be offered at a later date.
Camera-wise, the tablet offers an 8-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front sensor. It also gets Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band WiFi. Featuring a lightweight unibody design, the tablet houses an 8,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. Other bits include Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers, a split screen, and floating windows. As for its colour options, you can choose from Mint Green, Graphite Grey, and Lavender Purple.
Next is the Redmi Buds 5A, wireless earphones with active noise cancellation (ANC) up to 25dB, Google Fast Pair, 12mm drivers, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. Xiaomi says the earbuds deliver up to 28 hours of playback with their case and 5.5 hours with the buds at full charge. They get an IPX4 rating for water resistance. Priced at Rs 1,499, the Redmi Buds 5A comes in Timeless White and Bass Black colour options. They will be up for grabs starting April 29 on Amazon, Flipkart, and the Xiaomi store.
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Cleaner S10 and the Handheld Garment Steamer will be available at a special price of Rs 19,999 and Rs 2,299 for early birds, respectively. Both devices will be on sale starting May 6, while pre-bookings begin on April 29 on Mi.com, Flipkart, and Amazon.
The S10 gets advanced laser navigation technology for quick mapping. With 4000Pa of turbo suction power, the vacuum cleaner has a scanning range of 8 metres. It comes with a pre-installed roller brush and a mop pad, as well as a water tank that also acts as a dust container. Moreover, the product is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Last but not least, the Xiaomi Handheld Garment Steamer has a dual-heat ironing plate constructed out of thermostatic aluminium die-casting. Xiaomi says that the device has a 26-second pre-heating time, a 160-ml water storage capacity, and a 1300W continuous steam capability.
