To expand its popular Redmi A series, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 8A smartphone that comes with a huge 5,000mAh battery and slight improvements on all fronts.
The Redmi 8A sports a 6.22-inch Dot Notch HD+ display and offers an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone features an Aura Wave Grip design with a fine, textured patterns, which according to Xiaomi makes it easy to handle with one hand.
The 5,000mAh battery is supported by the 18W fast charging support. The Redmi 8A is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core chipset and will come in two variants – 2GB/32GB and 3GB/32GB. It features a 2+1 dual SIM slot with a dedicated micro-SD card support that allows further storage expansion of up to 512GB.
For mobile photography, the Redmi 8A has a 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with dual-pixel autofocus. The 12MP main camera has an aperture of f/1.8 and a large pixel size of 1.4μm. At the front, the Redmi 8A sports an 8MP selfie camera. Both front and rear cameras are capable of taking AI Portrait mode shots.
The Redmi 8A comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, while P2i’s nano-coating makes the smartphone splash resistant.
The Redmi 8A will be available in Midnight Black, Sunset Red, and Ocean Blue colour variants. The 2GB+32GB variant will be available for Rs 6,499, and the 3GB+32GB variant will be available for Rs 6,999 on Mi.com and Flipkart, starting September 29, 11:59 p.m. onwards.
The smartphone will be available at Mi Home stores starting September 30 onwards and will soon be available across all other offline stores.
