WhatsApp has been testing several new features to improve user experience. It has recently rolled out a new feature that enables users to post longer voice messages as status updates. Both Android and iOS users can now record one-minute audio notes and upload them as status on their phones. Previously, users could only share voice notes of 30 seconds. The new feature simplifies WhatsApp status updates for those who previously had to break long voice notes. The Meta-owned instant messaging app often releases updates in stages, so it may take a few days for the new feature to appear on your device. For more details, read on.
The voice note feature for status updates works in the same manner as voice messages. To record a voice note that will be posted as a status update, press and hold the microphone icon. If the sound quality of the clip isn't to your liking, simply move the bar to stop uploading the voice note and start again.
The new feature to upload longer voice notes on WhatsApp status is a great addition that allows users to post more meaningful and prolonged recordings. It is useful and convenient to share announcements or any other event that takes longer than thirty seconds to record.
Industry reports claim that WhatsApp is developing a new feature that could soon enable Android users to produce AI-generated profile pictures. Presently in development, the new AI Profile Photos feature may not be accessible to app beta testers who signed up through the Google Play Beta Program.
