A new smartphone for the Y-series lineup has been teased for release in India, as confirmed via a teaser image shared by Vivo. The company said on Monday that its next launch will come in the form of the new Y58 5G smartphone on June 20. There are hints that the upcoming Vivo Y series smartphone will be available in two colour options. There are two camera sensors in its spherical rear camera module. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC is anticipated to power the Vivo Y58 5G. According to several industry reports, it will have a 120Hz refresh rate display and a 6,000mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. Vivo hasn't confirmed anything about the smartphone as of yet, except for the name and the launch date.
On June 20, the Vivo Y58 5G will make its debut in India. According to the brand's teaser image, the forthcoming phone would have two colour options and a dual rear camera setup. It seems to sport a circular camera setup, much like the Vivo Y200t, that houses both a ring flash and an LED flash. The colour variants also have similarities to the Vivo Y200t's Aurora (black) and Qingshan (blue) shades.
Moreover, the phone appears to have glossy edges and a matte finish on the back panel in both colour variants, based on the teasers. In both colour versions, the rear panel's design is slightly different as well. To give it a more upscale look, the green variant's camera module has a ring surrounding it in a gold shade.
The Vivo Y58 5G is rumoured to have a 6.72-inch full-HD+ display with a peak brightness of 1,024 units and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is said to be powered by an 8GB RAM Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. Reports also suggest the phone would enable Extended RAM, which allows unused storage to be used as RAM. For photos and videos, the Vivo Y58 5G is claimed to have a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel shooter. It could further include an 8-megapixel front camera. The handset will likely be IP64-rated, indicating dust and water resistance. It is expected to offer 128GB of inbuilt storage, which can be upgraded up to 1TB.
The Vivo Y200t went on sale in China in May at a starting price of CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 13,000) for the 8GB + 128GB variant.
