Vivo Y28s, Y28e With MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, 5,000mAh Battery Launched in India

The Vivo Y28s and Y28e, the company's newest affordable 5G smartphones, have been introduced in India. The new Y28 series phones have 6.56-inch LCD panels with a refresh rate of 90Hz and are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G SoCs with up to 8GB of RAM. The Vivo Y28s and Y28e include an IP64-rated build for dust and water protection, along with a 5,000mAh battery. There are two rear camera modules on both phones. The Vivo Y28e sports a 13-megapixel primary camera, while the Vivo Y28s comes with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 sensor.

Vivo Y28 Series: Price and Availability

The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model of the Vivo Y28s costs Rs 13,999, while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version costs Rs 15,499 in India. The price of the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant is Rs 16,999. The available colour options include Vintage Red and Twinkling Purple.

Meanwhile, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model of the Vivo Y28e retails for Rs 10,999. The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs Rs 11,999. The model comes in Breeze Green and Vintage Red colour options. Both models are currently available for purchase via platforms like Flipkart, the Vivo India e-Store, and all major retail outlets.

Vivo Y28 Series: Specifications and Features

A 6.56-inch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a maximum brightness of 840 nits, and certification for TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light is a feature of the dual-SIM (Nano) enabled Vivo Y28s and Vivo Y28e, which operate on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. Although the latter has an HD display, the former features a screen with HD+ resolution. They have an 8GB LPDDR4X RAM option for the Y28s and a 6nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6100 5G CPU. You can add up to 16GB to this inbuilt memory.

The Vivo Y28s sports two rear cameras, one of which is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 primary sensor. It has a 5-megapixel portrait camera on the front for taking pictures and making video calls. The 13-megapixel primary sensor on the Vivo Y28e is part of the camera unit. Additionally, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. For taking pictures in bright and low light, both phones have Super Night camera mode and Multi-style portrait mode support.

The Vivo Y28s and Y28e have 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port as connectivity options. There are several sensors on board, such as a proximity sensor, e-compass, accelerometer, and motor. For authentication, the Vivo Y28s has a fingerprint scanner positioned on the side. Both models have an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. A 5,000mAh battery with 15W rapid charging is included in the Vivo Y28s and Y28e models. With its new phones, Vivo promises a four-year battery life. The thickness of the phones is 8.38mm.
