Vivo Y18t with 50MP Portrait Camera, 5,000mAh Battery Launched at Rs 9,499 in India

Vivo has silently launched its new affordable smartphone in India, the Y18t. Rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance, the Vivo Y18t is available in a single 4GB + 128GB configuration and two colour options (Gem Green and Space Black). It can be had at Rs 9,499. Sales are currently underway through the Vivo India e-store and Flipkart. 

The Vivo Y18t gets a Unisoc T612 chipset underneath the surface. The chipset is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This, combined with an extended RAM feature that can boost virtual RAM by up to 8 GB, lends a smooth user experience. The storage can be extended through a microSD card. Powering the Y18t budget smartphone is a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

Vivo Y18t: Display, Camera and More

Vivo claims the battery offers up to 62.53 hours of music playback time and 6.8 hours of PUBG playback time on a single charge. The smartphone tips the scales at 185 grams, and measures 163x75.58x8.3mm in size. Display-wise, the Y18t has an HD+ IPS LCD panel measuring 6.56 inches. The panel supports a 720p resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 269ppi pixel density and peak brightness of 840nits. 

In terms of photography, the Vivo Y18t features a dual camera setup on its plastic back. The setup consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 0.08-megapixel secondary shooter. A rear flash for better lighting in low-light conditions is also available. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video chats.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2, FM Radio, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, OTG, Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port. Onboard sensors are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, motor gyroscope and a proximity sensor. The phone also offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
