Vivo has launched its first foldable smartphone in India – the X Fold3 Pro. Measuring 5.2mm in thickness when unfolded, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro is the country's slimmest foldable phone. It is also lightweight, tipping the scales at 236 grams. With the armor architecture consisting of the armor glass, back cover, and carbon fibre hinge, the smartphone can withstand scratches. The carbon fibre hinge is said to endure 100 folds per day for 12 years. Along with it, the phone also has an IPX8 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Priced at Rs 1.60 lakh in India, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro comes in a sole 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant, making it the ultra-premium flagship smartphone. The X Fold3 Pro goes on sale in India on June 13 this year, while the bookings of the device are underway. Interested buyers can purchase the phone through the company’s official website, Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retail stores. Celestial Black is the only colour the device can be had in.
When unfolded, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro packs in a large 8.03-inch E7 AMOLED display which gets 2K+ resolution, LTPO technology, 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Ultra-thin Glass, and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. In its folded state, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro has a 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED display supporting an FHD+ resolution, armor glass, 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro gets a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The battery is a 5,700mAh unit compatible with 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and reverse wireless fast charging. Vivo says the 50W wireless fast charger will go on sale on June 17 through the Vivo India eStore and offline channels. It will be priced at Rs 5,599.
Coming to its camera, the device features a triple camera setup at the back: a 50-megapixel primary sensor (OV50H) with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and Zeiss T* coating, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens (Samsung JN1), and a 64-megapixel (OV64B) telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. On the front, there are dual 32-megapixel dual cameras, one on the primary and another on the secondary screen.
The Vivo X Fold3 Pro runs on the Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 custom skin. Other bits include an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4 LE, and dual SIM support.
