Vivo, following in the footsteps of Samsung, OnePlus, and other major smartphone manufacturers, is getting ready to introduce the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro to the Indian foldable smartphone market. With this launch, scheduled for June 6, 2024, the company will make its entry into the foldable smartphone market outside of China. Vivo has already provided its customers with some teasers regarding the upcoming Fold 3 Pro, which promises cutting-edge AI capabilities in addition to high-end features. While specifics are being kept under wraps, there are already some rumours floating around that allude to potential features of the next Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is available in China for 9,999 yuan (around Rs 1.17 lakh) and comes in two colour options: Light Feather White and Thin Wing Black. In the Indian market, the foldable smartphone is expected to cost less than Rs 1.5 lakh. It is anticipated that the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will be offered through several channels, such as Flipkart, the official Vivo India website, and offline retail stores. To capture a sizable chunk of the rapidly expanding Indian foldable phone market, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro's price approach will put it in direct rivalry with other high-end foldable models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Oppo Find N2 Flip.
A 6.53-inch cover display and an 8.03-inch inner AMOLED LTPO folding display make up the twin screens of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, which is based on the Chinese model. In addition to supporting Dolby Vision and HDR10+, both panels should have an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. The phone's unique 14.98 g carbon fibre hinge allows it to fold into India's thinnest folding phone, measuring only 11.2mm when folded and weighing only 236 g.
The internal components of the smartphone include an Adreno GPU for enhanced graphics performance and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. With up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, it offers plenty of capacity and seamless multitasking. The gadget will come pre-installed with OriginOS 4, which is based on Android 14 and offers a smooth and simple user interface. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is said to have a camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel ultra-sensing primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 64-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Besides this, a 32-megapixel front camera is anticipated for video calls and selfies, ensuring stunning photo and video quality.
With a 5,700mAh battery, the foldable phone has extended battery life. Users will be able to quickly recharge their device thanks to its compatibility with both 50W wireless charging and 100W wired charging. The TUV Rheinland certification for the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro ensures that the device can withstand up to 500,000 folds, which speaks to durability. This certification guarantees that the foldable mechanism will last a long time and continue to perform reliably for about 12 years.
