Vivo has launched its new mid-segment smartphone, the V40e, in India. The Vivo V40e is the successor to the V30e and joins the V40 lineup as the entry-level model. The lineup already includes the V40 and the V40 Pro. The latest Vivo V40e can be had in two storage configurations: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. The former is priced at Rs 28,999, while the latter costs you Rs 2,000 more. While sales will begin starting October 2, 2024, the pre-bookings are now open. Interested buyers can make reservations through Flipkart or the company's official website. For online buyers, no-cost EMI benefits of up to 6 months or a 10 per cent exchange bonus are also available. There is also a 10 per cent discount for HDFC and SBI cardholders.
Underneath the surface, the Vivo V40e gets a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. The device runs on Android 14-based FuntouchOS 14 and comes with three years of Android updates and four years of security patches.

The Vivo V40e has a 6.77-inch full-HD+ curved AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,392 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and SGS low blue light certification. The device additionally gets Wet Touch technology, wherein the touch works when the screen is wet.
At the back, the V40e features a pill-shaped camera island, which houses two oblong-shaped modules. The dual-camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, as well as an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 116-degree field of view. There is also an Aura Light LED flash for studio-quality pictures. On the front, the device sports a 50-megapixel sensor for selfies and video chats.
The Vivo V40e also supports 4K video recording and offers Ultra-stable video, a Vlog movie creator mode, and several AI (artificial intelligence) features such as AI Eraser, AI Portrait Suite, and AI Photo Enhancer. Other notable bits include an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 5,500mAh battery (with 80W wired fast charging), an onboard heat dissipation system, an IP64 rating for splash/dust resistance, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB Type-C charging port.

The device measures 163.7x75.0x7.49mm in size and tips the scale at 183 grams. It is offered in two colour options: Mint Green and Royal Bronze.
