A successor to the Y19 from last year, the vivo Y20 has made it to our shores after bagging certification from Indonesian authorities last week. But that's not about it, vivo has a more affordable Y20i in the stores for us too.
On the specifications front, both the smartphones are quite similar to one another. To start off, both of them feature a 6.51-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) IPS display and are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor. Both the phones come with 64GB of internal storage. Where the Y20 packs 4GB of RAM, the more affordable Y20i comes with 3GB of RAM.
Now, to the optics front, both the Y20 and Y20i feature a triple camera setup at the rear, which includes a 13MP primary shooter, and two 2MP sensors. In the selfie department, too, both the phones share the same optics, as they both pack an 8MP sensor. Some of the camera features include portrait, photo, video, panorama, live photo, slo-mo, and professional modes.
On the connectivity front, both the phones come with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, USB OTG, FM Radio, and more. Moreover, both run on the brand's custom FunTouch OS 10.5 skin on top of Android 10. As far as the endurance is concerned, both are backed up by a 5,000mAh battery, which can be topped up via micro-USB. It's the vivo Y20, however, that gets 18W fast charging support.
The vivo Y20 is priced at ₹12,990 for the sole 4GB + 64GB version. It will be available across offline retail stores, Vivo's India e-store, and other major e-commerce platforms starting August 28 in two colours (obsidian black and dawn white). The Y20i, on the other hand, is priced at ₹11,490 for the lone 3GB + 64GB model. It, too, will be available in two colours - dawn white and nebula blue - starting September 3 on the abovesaid platforms.
