Swiggy recently introduced a new feature called Incognito mode. As the name suggests, the new feature is intended to give users more privacy when placing food or quick commerce orders. It lets customers keep specific orders off of their order history, which is ideal for situations where discretion is required. Swiggy said in a statement, 'With shared accounts being common, not every order is meant to be seen by family, friends, or partners, Swiggy's new Incognito Mode protects those moments of privacy, allowing users to order a midnight cake for a surprise birthday or a special gift for an anniversary without the risk of these purchases appearing in their order history.' Additionally, the company has stated that just 10% of its customers presently have access to the feature, and the rest of the users will be able to use it in the next several days.

For individuals who share accounts with friends or family, Incognito Mode comes in handy in various situations. This feature can be used, for instance, if someone is arranging for a surprise birthday cake delivery or buying a unique gift for an anniversary, to make sure their order doesn't appear in history and be seen by others. Furthermore, it is useful for discreet purchases, such as placing orders for Swiggy Instamart's wellness products. Therefore, users can keep such orders confidential, knowing that their order history will not be visible to others.

Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace said, 'As social as our lives are becoming, there are still things we prefer to keep private, and Incognito Mode is designed to address that need,” said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace. “Whether you’re ordering a meal or making a quick purchase, Incognito Mode ensures your choices remain private. We’re excited to offer our users a seamless experience that lets them enjoy Swiggy’s diverse offerings with enhanced privacy.'

Swiggy 'Incognito Mode' Feature: Here's How It Works

It is easy to switch on Swiggy's Incognito Mode. Before placing an order, users can enable it by simply toggling the option in their cart. A notification indicating that Incognito Mode is active will appear after the feature is enabled. Following delivery, the order is viewable for three hours in case any issues need to be resolved. To ensure complete anonymity, the order is immediately removed from the user's order history after this.

This new feature comes after Swiggy recently improved its user experience with Eatlists, Explore Mode, Group Ordering, Reordering, and Similar Carts. Swiggy is further guaranteeing that users have more control over their purchases while protecting their privacy with Incognito Mode.
