Sony today announced the launch of Xperia XZ1 smartphone that comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and is also the world’s first mobile device that comes with auto-focus burst mode.
Priced at Rs 44,990, the Xperia XA1 will be available in stores and online starting today (September 25) onwards.
The smartphone features 5.2-inch Triluminous full-HD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer on top. The display also supports HDR. The Xperia XZ1 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset which has an octa-core processor with one quad core Kryo cluster clocked at 2.35 GHz and the other quad core Kryo cluster clocked at 1.9 GHz. This is paired with 4 GB RAM and the smartphone offers 64 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded using a micro-SD card slot.
For mobile photographers, Sony has utilised a single lens setup – ditching the dual lens setup used by almost all manufacturers today. There is a 19MP Motion eye primary camera featuring a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS mobile memory stacked sensor. The rear camera can also be used to scan objects in 3D and with the bundled 3D Creation Tool, images can also be rendered in 3D.
On the front, the Sony Xperia XZ1 packs a 13 MP sensor and the smartphone comes with the usual stack of connectivity options found on other flagships smartphones.
The company is offering recently announced pure Android 8.0 Oreo OS out of the box. This news comes a deal breaker as most of the high-end smartphones released this year including the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are still stuck with Android Nougat -- with many promising upgrades to Android Oreo.
The company also showcased a "Style Stand Cover” that be used as a stand for the device in portrait mode, will be available for Rs 3,490.
If bundled with phone, users can get it for Rs 1,000. The company also announced a five per cent cashback eligible with purchases made from HDFC credit/debit cards and ICICI credit cards.
