Two months ago, at an online event, Sony revealed its upcoming PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition gaming consoles. However, the company didn't reveal the pricing of its next-gen gaming consoles back then.
And now, Sony has just announced that it will hold a PlayStation 5 event next week. Pitching the event as 'one more look at some of the great games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!)', Sony is all set to broadcast a 40-minute 'digital showcase' on Wednesday, September 16th, at 1:00 pm PDT (1:30 am IST on Thursday, September 17).

We will most likely get the pricing of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, along with the release date. This is very likely as Microsoft is opening up Xbox preorders on September 22nd. For reference, Microsoft has priced the Xbox Series X console at ₹49,990 and the lighter Xbox Series S console at ₹34,990.
We expect Sony to price both its consoles in the same league as the Xbox Series line-up. You can stream Sony's virtual event on either YouTube or Twitch at 1:30 am IST on Thursday, September 17.
