Samsung has launched the Aluminium edition of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G in India. Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has seen several new additions to the model ever since its launch in September 2019. However, this is the first “made in India” variant of the watch. Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G Aluminium edition is available in India for ₹28,490. It is available in three different colour variants – pink gold, cloud silver and aqua black. It is expected to go on sale in the country from July 11 on leading online portals, Samsung.com, Samsung retails outlets and Samsung Opera House.
"With Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G, we have also started manufacturing our entire range of 18 smartwatches in India as part of 'Make for India' program," said Mohandeep Singh, senior vice president at Samsung India mobile business.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G Aluminium edition features a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360x360 pixels. The round display panel has a Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ for protection. It has a rotating bezel that helps you navigate through its Tizen OS, which comes with support for 39 different types of workout and nonstop heart rate monitoring. The smartwatch is IP68 certified and can function at a maximum pressure of up to 5ATM.
Further, the gadget features 1.5GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, Glonass, Beidou and GPS. The smartwatch functions on 340mAh battery, which can last up to 60 hours of daily usage, as per the manufacturer. Lastly, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G Aluminium can run a host of third-party apps too and it features a gyroscope, ECG sensor, barometer, accelerometer, and ambient light sensor as well.
