There has been a lot going on in the smartphone camera space. Recently, Xiaomi launched the Mi Note 10 (aka Mi CC9 Pro in China) with a 108MP camera. The phone uses a Samsung-made sensor, which gave people liberty to assume that the South Korean giant will be using his tech in its upcoming flagship series, the Galaxy S11 smartphones. The launch is at least four months away but rumour mill has already started to churn out details of the handsets. Until now, we know that there will be an S11 Series, and speculations are rife that Samsung will launch five models and three different sizes of the phone. There’s chatter about the colour options as well.
As per reputed tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), Samsung is likely to launch three different variants in the Galaxy S11 lineup. The smallest of the three models is said to have either 6.2-inch or 6.4-inch display, the middle one is likely to measure 6.7-inch, and the largest one is touted to sport a 6.9-inch panel. The company may call these phones the Galaxy S11e, the Galaxy S11, and the Galaxy S11 Plus respectively.
He also noted that the smallest and middle models will come in 4G as well as 5G capabilities, but the one with the largest screen size is expected to land only with 5G. Further, the South Korean giant is said to ditch the flat panels and instead go for curved display in all three models. Moreover, these panels are likely to be AMOLED displays, which may make the ‘affordable’ Galaxy S11e a little more pricey.
When it comes to the launch date, we already know that Samsung has been unveiling its flagship devices at the ‘Unpacked’ events in New York. The Galaxy S-Series of phones are usually launched in the last week of February at MWC, and Blass says that this year won't be different. While the exact date for the launch is not known yet, the tipster says that it might happen around the same time as last year.
Being the flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy S11 smartphones are expected to pack top-of-the-line hardware. Samsung will likely use its Exynos processor in majority of markets and Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 in the phones it sells in the US. The phones may have up to 12GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. None of it is confirmed and this speculation is purely based on the trend that Samsung has followed in its previous flagships.

As mentioned, Samsung may be planning to include its 108MP camera innovation on the S11 Series of phones. The Galaxy S11 models may have the company’s ISOCELL Bright HMX S5KHMX camera sensor. While there is no information on the number of cameras, we might see a quad camera setup on the costliest model. Another tipster Ishan Agarwal suggests that the Galaxy S11 may launch in blue, gray, and black colours, and the Galaxy S11e in blue, gray, and pink colours.
