Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Samsung has launched the Galaxy J2 Core 2020, priced at ₹6,299. Samsung also offers EMI options that begin from as low as ₹291.51 per month. The latest Samsung phone is expected to ship when the lockdown is called off. The 2020 Galaxy J2 Core comes in three colours – black, blue, and gold.
The Galaxy J2 Core 2020 features a 5.00-inch screen with 540 x 960px qHD resolution and wide bezels on both the top and bottom. As far as the cameras are concerned, the device holds a 5MP front camera right above the screen and an 8MP rear camera rests on the back with auto-focus lens and sensor. The rear shooter also supports FHD video recording.
The smartphone which is the 2020 version of Galaxy J2 Core is powered with 2,600mAh removable battery that commits up to 22 hours of talk time and can be charged via a micro USB cable. Powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, it functions on Android 8.0 Oreo Go Edition and houses in-built Android Go apps including Gmail Go Maps Go, YouTube Go, and Assistant Go.
The Galaxy J2 Core 2020 is fuelled by an Exynos 7570 Quad, which is a 14nm chip with four Cortex-A53 cores and Mali-T720 GPU. There is only a single variant on sale, which comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy J2 Core 2020 has a ‘Smart Manager’ that enables the users to install apps or move the content to the memory card. The device, however, has no fingerprint sensor on it.
It is clear that Samsung is targeting a niche audience with the 2020 edition of the J2 Core. Therefore, It remains to be seen if this new Samsung makes a dent in a segment successfully captured by the likes of Xiaomi and Realme smartphones.
