Xiaomi's Smarter Living 2024 is set to take place on April 23 in India. Among the four products that Xiaomi has scheduled for the event is the Redmi Pad SE, which is already on sale in international markets. Though the price announcement will happen on the said date, Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has revealed the design, colour options, and specifications of the India-spec Pad SE.
Like its global counterpart, the India-spec Redmi Pad SE is likely to get a sleek aluminium alloy unibody design. We expect the upcoming tablet to tip the scales at about 478 grams. As for its colour options, the Redmi Pad SE is teased to arrive on our market in Green, Grey, and Lavender shades. Under the hood, the Pad SE will receive Qualcomm's Snapdragon 680 SoC processor with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC5.1 storage. The storage is expandable by up to 1 TB through a microSD card.
Redmi has yet to reveal whether the India-spec Pad SE will run on MIUI or HyperOS; however, it confirms that the device will offer features like a split screen and floating windows. The Pad SE is also said to deliver up to 14 hours of video playback time, 219 hours of music playback time, or up to 43 days of standby time. Other bits are an 11-inch full-HD+ LCD screen with 1,900 x 1,200 pixels, a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate, and TUV Rheinland low blue light certification, as well as quad speakers that are compatible with Dolby Atmos.
Camera-wise, we expect an 8-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front sensor, while the battery could be the same 8,000mAh unit with 10W charging support. There is a possibility that Redmi may offer a 3.5mm audio jack and an AI face unlock feature.
The price of the India-spec Redmi Pad SE has yet to be revealed. For your reference, the international-spec Redmi Pad SE starts at EUR 199 (around Rs 18,000) for the 4GB + 128GB variant and goes up to EUR 249 (around Rs 23,000) for the 8GB + 128GB variant.
Besides the Redmi Pad SE, Xiaomi is also going to introduce three other products at the Xiaomi Smarter Living 2024, which is an annual event where the company showcases its smart AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) products. The three products are likely to be Robot Vacuum Mop, Xiaomi Hair Dryer, and earbuds.
