In a breakthrough, Realme has confirmed plans to launch the GT-branded smartphone on May 22 in India while also revealing the metallic finish back panel. Competing for the top spot in the upper mid-range smartphone market, the Realme GT 6T is said to be a rebadged version of the GT Neo 6 SE, which Realme launched in China in April 2024. The Realme GT 6T will be launched across global markets starting with India. Speaking of which, the smartphone will be available for purchase in our market through Amazon, Realme's official website, and select offline stores in the country.
According to Realme, the upcoming GT 6T will have a design similar to the GT Neo 6 SE. The phone teased in the image reveals a silver colour option with nano mirror coating technology. It also features two LED flashlights and vertically stacked rear cameras.
Speaking of the latter, the Realme GT 6T will likely come with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) as well as an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor with an ultrawide lens, both placed in separate, circular modules. For selfies and video calls, expect a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor.
Under the hood, the Realme GT 6T is confirmed to get the same Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC as the GT Neo 6 SE, making it the first phone in India to feature the chipset. Also, the phone is capable of crossing 1.5 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, according to Realme. The battery could be a 5500mAh unit which supports 100W fast charging.
Since the Realme GT 6T is a rebranded GT Neo 6 SE, expect the former to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE S1 8T LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 6000 nits of peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Other bits expected are an in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, 5G support, NFC connectivity, dual slim slots, and a USB Type-C port. The GT 6T is expected to tip the scales at 191 grams.
