Philips Audio has unveiled a range of products, including soundbars, tower speakers, bluetooth headsets and bluetooth speakers in India. The showcase of audio products was organised just ahead of the festive season, during which the company wants to boost its sales in this category. At the event, Arun Menon Country Business Head, Philips Television and Audio, TPV Technology, said that Philips has a product for people in every age group and use case.
Menon said that the new products are being designed keeping in mind an aim to create new personalised user experiences through innovation and technology. For example, the Philips TA 8603 bluetooth soundbar with Dolby Atmos, which delivers 3D soundscape home cinema sound experience. The sound bar will be available for Rs 31,990 on all leading online and offline retail channel at the end of the year.
Philips Audio also showcased several upcoming products in headphones and BT speaker categories along with a range of home audio products. These products will be available on all leading online and offline channels for the Indian customers in the upcoming months. Menon said that the company will now focus on soundbar, wireless speakers, party speakers and bluetooth/TWS Mobility range. It will offer products based on the target consumer segments, which are: Fidelio, Performance, Retro, Bass+, Upbeat and Fidelity. Philips Audio also plans to catch up with IoT (connected) products and expand in smart home business.

Philips ‘Performance’ range wireless bluetooth headphones
The company showcased a new range of Philips Performance Wireless Bluetooth headphones TAPHBO5 and TAPN5O5, which are equipped with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Google Assistant. The Philips TAPH805 wireless over-ear headphones is claimed to deliver up to 30 hours play-time and quick charging support. The Philips TAPN505 neckband earphones on the other hand, are said to deliver up to 14 hours play time. These neckband earphones also also equipped with Google Assistant. Both of the products will be available by the end of the year in India on online and offline channels at Rs 13,990 and Rs 11,990, respectively.
Philips Soundbars
Philips Audio showcased two soundbars: Philips HTL3320 and HTL3310 for televisions. The company says that these soundbars boost the audio performance when connected with television, DVD players, gaming consoles and MP3 players. Equipped with twin tweeters and virtual surround sound technology, these devices will soon be available at Rs 20,990 and Rs 18,990, respectively.
Philips Headphones
The company also unveiled the mobily range of products that include the Philips UpBeat True Wireless range and Performance range of earphones. The Upbeat True Wireless headphones: Philips SHB 2505 and SHB 2515 deliver extra-long battery life, thanks to the charging case which also works as a power bank for a mobile phone. They will be available later this year at Rs 7,999 and Rs 8,999, respectively.
Philips Audio also showcased affordable true wireless headphones, the Philips TAUTI02, that are said to deliver 12 hours of play time. These earphones offer acoustic echo cancellation and they will be available at Rs 4,990. For those with shallow pockets, the company has launched the Philips UpBeat TAUH202 which will be available at Rs 3,299.
When it comes to the Philips performance range, the company showcased Philips TAPH802 and TAPN402 earphones. These will be available at Rs 10,990 and Rs 7,990, respectively. While, the Philips TAPH8O2 Hi-Res Audio wireless headphones are said to deliver up to 30 hours of play time, the waterproof Philips TAPN402 earphones come with a slim neckband with up to 14 hours play time.
Philips Bluetooth Speakers
Philips Audio also unveiled the Philips BT6620 bluetooth speakers with lights that sync with the beats. The splash-proof speaker comes in three colour variants: blue, black and red, and will be available at Rs 5,990.
Some of the existing Philips Audio products that are already available in the Indian market and were showcased at the event include the Philips MMS22208 and MMS2200B bluetooth speakers for home entertainment. The speakers are available for Rs 14,990 and Rs 10,990, respectively.
The convertible Philips MMS8085B soundbar speaker comes with 80W sound output and are priced at Rs 8,990. Another model, the Philips SPA80008, can be purchased for Rs 10,490. Those who prefer bass can purchase Philips SPA9120B and SPA90808 tower speakers. Encased in a wooden cabinet, the speakers can be purchased for Rs 22,990 and Rs 16,990 respectively. The speakers come equipped with a wireless microphone for karaoke.
Affordable line-up includes Philips SHB1805 and SHB3595 earphones which are available at a price of Rs 2,499 and Rs 2,999, respectively. While the Philips SHB1805 are in-ear bluetooth earphones with up to four hours of wireless run-time, the Philips SHB3595 portable earphones are claimed to deliver up to 6 hours of battery life.
Amongst the recently-launched devices are the Philips SHK2000 headphones, which are tailored for growing kids. These headphones are equipped with child-specific features, such as they keep the volume at a safe level. These are designed to withstand the child's rough play and are available in two colours: mix of purple and pink, and mix of blue and green for Rs 1.499.
Offers on audio products
Philips Audio is offering discounts on selected range of products. On the purchase of selected Philips tower speakers' range SPA9120/9080/9060/9075 or SPA8000B (5.1 MMS), consumers will get a set of Philips headphones for free. Further, they can avail free on-site warranty and easy EMI finance schemes on selected high-value products. To top it all, one lucky winner will also get a chance to win the Philips Ambilight TV worth Rs 1,38,999.
Philips audio products will be sold by TPV Technology India Pvt Ltd, the company that, since 2018, has owned the exclusive trademark license to sell Philips brand audio products globally. A $10 billion company, TPV Technology is said to be the largest manufacturer of displays globally, and has 30,000 employees worldwide. It has eight R&D centres globally out of which six are engaged in designing and innovating products for Philips. One such R&D centre is in Bengaluru.
