Japanese tech giant Panasonic has announced a new digital single-lens full-frame mirrorless camera -- Lumix S1H in India. The LUMIX S1H is the world’s first camera that captures 6K resolution and is capable of video recording at 6K/24p (3:2 aspect ratio), 5.9K/30p (16:9 aspect ratio), and 10-bit 60p 4K/C4K.
The Lumix S1H features a newly designed 24.2 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor that comes with Dual Native ISO technology at ISO 640 and ISO 4000 to ensure clean footage even in low light situations. Other key features of the Lumix S1H include full V-Log/ V-Gamut with 14+ stops of dynamic range, 4:2:2 10bit internal recording, Cinema 4K recording at up to 60p and unlimited recording time. It also packs a host of features for professional cinematographers shooting on a mirrorless system such as HDR (High Dynamic Range) in HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), Anamorphic 4:3 modes and a waveform monitor.
The Lumix S1H combines 5-axis Body IS (Image Stabiliser) and 2-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) that is found in the Lumix S series lenses. This helps in shooting stabilised footage for as low as 6.5-stop slower shutter speed. The S1H is also compatible with Microphone Adaptor (DMW-XLR1), supporting High Quality Audio Input and XLR Line and Mic input. The camera also supports VFR (Variable Frame Rate) and helps users record over-cranked / under-cranked videos in C4K/4K, 60 fps, FHD 180 fps, with maximum 7.5x slower speed in 24p. In addition, HFR (High Frame Rate) video of upto Full HD 100p/120p with sound is also recordable even when using auto focus. Varieties of effects are available for producing a slow-motion video through the post-production process as well.
Panasonic has also announced the development of a firmware programme for the LUMIX S1H full-frame mirrorless camera, which enables the output of maximum 5.9K/29.97p RAW video data to the Atomos Ninja V 4K HDR monitor-recorder over HDMI. The program is scheduled to be launched in early 2020.
Priced at Rs 3,19,990, the Lumix S1H is available across leading retail outlets.
