OnePlus 6T, successor of one of the best mid-range Android flagship phone of 2018 will not be having headphone jack, instead the Chinese maker will offer USB-Type C headphones.
“We found 59 per cent of our community already owned wireless headphones earlier this year - and that was before we launched our Bullets Wireless headphones. By removing the jack we’ve freed up more space, allowing us to put more new technology into the product,” TechRadar quoted OnePlus CEO Carl Pei as saying.
What the new technology will be put is not yet detailed but we believe the removal of headphone jack could be compensated with bigger battery. Now with OnePlus also deciding to kill headphone jack, Samsung and LG remain as the last two globally known manufacturers with flagship phones that still have headphone jacks.
OnePlus 6T is expected to come with 6.4-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 845 processor and a vertically aligned triple rear cameras -- a 20MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary lens (both of which are dual AI cameras), as well as a time-of-flight (TOF) 3D depth sensor. On the front, the upcoming OnePlus flagship will have a 25MP lens of f/1.4 aperture.
The company recently launched OnePlus 6 with high-end specs, topped with a gorgeous design and build. The main USP of the OnePlus 6 is its 6.28-inch notched full optic screen with 19:9 aspect ratio. And unlike iPhone X, the notch in OnePlus 6 is concealed by a black bar that allowed OnePlus to fit more screen into basically the same dimensions as its previous OnePlus 5T and 5 models.
Another refreshing change in the OnePlus 6 is the introduction of a new glass back, replacing the unibody aluminum case that’s been the norm for OnePlus for a number of years.
“This is the first in OnePlus line of flagships to feature an all-glass design,” the company said. With the glass back design, OnePlus joins the bandwagon of companies like Apple, Samsung, Sony, Nokia, LG, and Huawei — in having glass on both the front and the back of its flagship device.
