Highlights of the One Plus 6T McLaren Edition include a carbon fibre finish on the back panel, fast charging, 10GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Earlier this month, One Plus launched the 6T McLaren Edition globally. The smartphone has been priced at GBP 649 in the UK. Now, the Chinese company has launched it in India at a price of Rs 50,999. The McLaren Edition demands Rs 13,000 over the price of the standard One Plus 6T.
So what do you get for the additional price you pay for the McLaren Edition? To start with, you get a smarter looking phone with a carbon fibre finish under the glass back panel. At the bottom, there’s also the McLaren insignia at the bottom and a neat streak of orange on the edges. The smartphone also comes with a Papaya Orange cable. On the box, this special edition model gets the McLaren logo made out of the same carbon fibre that was used in the MCL33 2018 Formula 1 Car. In fact, One Plus claims that the carbon fibre worth six Formula 1 cars has been used to make the McLaren logo that buyers will be able to see on the box.
A phone that wears the McLaren emblem has to have the performance to match too. While the standard 6T comes in two trims – 6GB RAM and 128GB storage or an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option. This McLaren Edition promises to be faster and smoother in terms of operation thanks to a better 10GB RAM.
In all other aspects, the 6T McLaren Edition remains identical to the standard model. At the heart is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octacore processor which gets its power from a 3,700mAh battery. The phone comes with a Wrap Charge 30 unit that can deliver a day’s worth of charge in just 20 minutes. The regular variants come with a 20W fast charging capability. Just like the standard model, the McLaren edition gets a 6.41-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. In terms of dimensions and weight, the McLaren Edition is the same as the regular model too.
This isn’t the first time One Plus has brought in a special edition phone. One Plus has previously brought in special Star Wars and Avengers edition smartphones.
