Nothing is back with the enhanced Phone (2a) Plus, just four months after the original Phone (2a) went on sale. Apart from significant performance improvements, this new phone has a better selfie camera and a redesigned look. Commenting on the launch, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing said, 'Following the success of Phone (2a), which was a breath of fresh air in its market segment and became our best-selling smartphone, we’re thrilled to introduce Phone (2a) Plus. This upgraded variant features a world-exclusive processor, an improved front camera, and a new metallic design. With Phone (3) launching in 2025, Phone (2a) Plus is for those who are excited about Phone (2a) but are seeking even higher performance.'

The Phone (2a) Plus comes in two storage options: an 8GB RAM with 256GB variant (priced at Rs 27,999) and a 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant (priced at Rs 29,999). Exclusive launch offers include select bank discounts, bringing the pricing down to Rs 25,999 and Rs 27,999, respectively. The sales in India will begin on August 7 through Flipkart, Croma, Vijay Sales, and other retail partners. The phone will be initially available at Nothing Store Soho, London, starting at 11 AM BST on August 3.
The Phone (2a) Plus has two new metallic colour options: Metallic Grey and an enhanced Black. The model is made from recycled aluminium, tin, copper foil, and plastic. It has an FHD+ 6.7" AMOLED display with 1300 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. The smartphone maintains a screen-to-body ratio with small 2.1mm bezels and features Nothing's famous Glyph Interface on the rear.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G processor powers the Phone (2a). With eight cores operating at up to 3.0 GHz, this chipset – based on TSMC's 4 nm Gen 2 technology – offers roughly 10% more CPU performance than the Phone (2a). Gamers can anticipate 30% better performance when combined with an ARM Mali-G610 MC4 GPU clocked at 1.3 GHz. Additionally, Nothing's Smart Clean Technology, NTFS optimisations, and RAM Booster enhance the device by guaranteeing effective multitasking and quick file transfers.
A triple 50 MP arrangement is part of the updated camera system that the Phone (2a) Plus offers. An important improvement over the old 32 MP sensor is the new 50 MP front camera's capabilities for 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. The primary camera has an f/1.88 lens on a 50 MP sensor, an ultra-wide 50 MP sensor with a 114º field of view, and action mode with optical and electronic image stabilisation for improved low-light performance. Photography skills are enhanced by advanced technologies like AI Portrait Optimiser, Motion Capture, Ultra XDR, and TrueLens Engine.
The Phone (2a) Plus has a 5,000mAh battery and supports rapid 50W Fast Charging, which can provide a full day's charge in just 20 minutes, about 10% faster than its predecessor. The maker claims the device can last up to two days on a single charge and retains over 90% capacity after 1,000 charging cycles. The smartphone comes with Android 14 out of the box and includes three years of software and four years of security upgrades. Moreover, Nothing OS 2.6 introduces functioning widgets and the News Reporter Widget, which gives AI-curated daily news summaries.
