Motorola has revised the price of its mid-range smartphone in India, the Edge 40 Neo, bringing down the starting price to Rs 22,999 from Rs 23,999. Launched in September 2023, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo comes in two variants – 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. The latter, which is the top-spec version, is now available at Rs 24,999, down from Rs 25,999. The smartphone can be purchased through Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and other retail stores. As for the colour options, these are as follows: Soothing Sea, Peach Fuzz, Black Beauty, and Caneel Bay.
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo gets a 6.55-inch pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 1,300 nits peak brightness. The display additionally comes with a 10-bit colour panel and has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Powering the handset is an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7030 chipset, accompanied by Mali-G610 MC1 GPU, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of uMCP in-built storage.
In terms of battery and charging capabilities, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo uses a 5,000mAh unit, supported by 68W wired fast charging. Connectivity-wise, the phone is equipped with 4G/5G technology along with WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port.
At the front, the Edge 40 Neo features a 32-megapixel camera with quad-pixel technology. Meanwhile, the dual rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support and a 13-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. Weighing 172 grams, the phone runs on MyUX OS based on Android 13 and claims two years of OS updates and three years of security upgrades.
A couple of days ago, Motorola launched the Edge 40 Pro successor in India at Rs 27,999 (introductory price). Called the Edge 50 Pro, it is offered in two variants – 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB. The latter, in comparison, is available at an introductory price of Rs 31,999. Both variants will go on sale through Flipkart, Motorola online store, and select retail stores, with effect from April 9.
The brand-new Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes in three colour options – Black Beauty, Luxe Lavender, and Moonlight Pearl. The latter is a limited edition handcrafted by Mazzucchelli 1849, the Italian design house. It will go on sale starting April 8.
