HMD Global, the new home of Nokia phones is expected to launch Nokia 4, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7, as well as a 4G variant of the Nokia 3310 feature phone – at the Mobile World Congress in Feburary, in Barcelona.
HMD Global owned Nokia has announced four new additions to its Android portfolio -- Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 and Nokia 1. The company at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 also the marked the return of iconic Nokia 8110 now loaded with 4G connectivity and Google Assistant.
Earlier this month, HMD Global owned Nokia opened pre-bookings for the Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus in India. Both these phones are now officially available for purchase. The Nokia 7 Plus is available through Amazon India, while the Nokia 8 Sirocco is up for sale on Flipkart.
Nokia, a mobile phone brand that always reminds you of ‘indestructible’ phone bodies and long-lasting batteries, disappeared after ruling the Indian market for several years. In 2016, Nokia announced that it has licensed Finnish company HMD Global to produce Nokia-branded mobile phones and tablets.
The Nokia 7 Plus is armed with a Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. While the Qualcomm 600 mobile platform isn’t flagship, when combined with Adreno 540 GPU, it’s a CPU that’s 20 per cent faster than its predecessor with add-ons including LTE and AI components.
And that’s exactly what HMD Global’s latest Nokia 7.1 smartphone has to offer – it looks a lot like new iPhones, with tall screens, dual cameras and notches on top, and doesn’t shy away when pushed in terms of performance. But there’s one significant difference – the price.
HMD Global has launched two mid-range phones, the Nokia 7.2 and the Nokia 6.2. The Nokia 7.2 is equipped with a 48MP triple camera setup and the Nokia 6.2 sports a PureDisplay screen. The Finnish company also launched the military-grade Nokia 800 Tough, and Nokia 2720 Flip.
HMD Global has launched Nokia 7.2 with a 48MP camera, which comes equipped with ZEISS Optics, and PureDisplay in India. Starting at a price of Rs 18,499, the phone will be available from September 23 at both offline and online channels in Charcoal and Cyan Green colours.
HMD Global, the company that sells Nokia smartphones, has announced that it has started to roll out the Android 10 update to Nokia 7.1. The update is 1274.7MB in size and will bring features like Gesture Navigation, Smart Reply, among others.
Keeping its promise to make Nokia phones (under Android One programme) better over time, the company is on a spree of updating the software of its latest phones. Nokia has rolled out Android 10 for the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6.1.
