Meta has recently announced that all Indian users of WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram may now use its generative AI chatbot, "Meta AI." The chatbot was first made available by the tech giant in April for limited user testing. It will be able to perform everyday tasks like drafting emails, summarising texts, translating, and so on, just like the other AI assistants. Meta's most recent large language model, Llama 3, powers Meta AI. At the moment, it is only accessible in English. For example, Meta has directly incorporated it into WhatsApp group chats, allowing it to suggest restaurants for your upcoming trip. Additionally, Meta AI is accessible online, where it can be used to generate multiple-choice tests for study purposes, among other things.

As previously stated, all Meta platforms – Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram – will support Meta AI. Users will also be able to access the AI assistant via its website following the official launch. Meta AI's primary goal is to facilitate its users' tasks. The user can communicate directly with the chatbot, a general-purpose assistant powered by Microsoft's Bing and Google that can respond to queries and provide information in real time. They can also produce text and images, write assignments, and summarise lengthy texts.
The search bar on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger has also been enhanced with Meta AI. Facebook users can browse through the main feed of the app to access Meta AI. In addition to using it in a dedicated chat window, users will be able to access it through Facebook post scrolling. Each post will have an Ask Meta AI icon next to it, which may be tapped to reveal more details about the post's content. Users only need an account on any of the Meta platforms to enjoy the service, which is currently free.
