The iPhone 16 series is only one of the new devices that Apple plans to release in 2024. Recent rumours suggest that the tech giant is expected to unveil the updated Mac Mini, driven by an M4 CPU with an emphasis on AI capabilities. According to a report by Bloomberg, Mark Gurman also states that the next desktop computer will be the smallest to date and have the first significant redesign since 2010. Additionally, it is the first tablet from the company to include a two-stack "Tandem OLED" screen. However, the device will retain its aluminium body. Apple's M4 and M4 Pro chipsets, the former of which debuted on the company's iPad Pro in May this year, are expected to power it. Here's what we can expect from the anticipated Mac Mini M4.

As per several market reports, the new Mac Mini 4 would also be considerably more compact than its predecessor, resembling an Apple TV streaming device in size. In contrast, the Apple TV box measures around 3.7 inches across. Gurman added that Apple will utilise the same chip generation across all Macs for the first time adding to the list of firsts. AI functions, which will be available in October this year, are intended to be supported by the M4 chipset.
With the M4 chipset at its core, Apple is concentrating on making its devices more compact. Gurman did clarify that the forthcoming computer, despite being the smallest, will stand taller than the current one, which measures 1.4 inches in height. The Mac Mini's shell will be made of aluminium. According to the report, the new Mac Mini is basically an iPad Pro housed in a compact box. This strategy makes use of the company's proprietary silicon's lower power requirements.
The on-sale Mac mini costs Rs 59,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB built-in storage, but if the new version is more economical to build, it remains to be seen whether Apple would lower the price for prospective buyers or continue with its present pricing model.

The Mac Mini (2024) is reported to have "at least three USB ports" as well as an HDMI port and a power port. There is presently no information on whether the computer will have an Ethernet port like the M2 model, which has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, or the M2 Pro variant, which has four Thunderbolt 4 ports. Furthermore, the 2023 model has two USB Type-A ports, Ethernet, HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio port.
Beginning with the upgraded Mac mini, Apple has an extensive list of new Mac releases planned for the upcoming months.
