LG’s K10 is aimed at being an affordable offering in the android smartphone race and it truly is a worthy contender, except for one fatal flaw which really does let it down.

The rat race in the world of smartphones has had its pros and cons, but one thing is for sure, today at a relatively affordable price there is a whole range of rather decent android smartphones that one can have. What we have here, is LG’s offering in the affordable smartphone range, the K10 (2017 model). Priced at Rs.15,000 from the company, the K10 is actually available on the market in the range of Rs.13,000 or so, which makes it a tempting buy.

Of course, being a phone in this segment means that built quality is limited. So, the phone does feel a little light and delicate but then, a light phone means you can use it with that much more agility. This brings us swiftly to the interface which has really smooth transitions and feels premium. The K10 runs Android Nougat 7.0 operating system with a 1.5 GHz octa core processor that gives the phone good performance for a phone in this price bracket. You can run multiple apps without the phone bogging down on the performance front at any time with its 2GB of RAM ensuring the system works overtime to give you the best possible performance. The K10 comes with a 2,800mAh battery which offers decent battery life and compliments the positive nature of the phone.

The 1280×720 HD display has a rich display which is always appealing to look at and makes for a pleasant experience to use this phone. However, what isn’t much of a pleasing experience at all is the phone’s 13-megapixel primary camera which we are sorry to say, is close to no good. The camera just won’t focus on anything at all, even if you try to take a closeup picture of a document there is always a 50:50 chance about you getting a clear image. And when you try and take portrait pictures, the image quality is so bad that you would rather not click a picture at all. This is quite a disappointment really, as this phone otherwise was proving to be such a good value for money proposition. And even if you aren’t a person who clicks pictures, someday you are going to want to click a picture with friends or of something amusing and that day it will be quite a disappointment.

Honestly, the LG K10 is quite a brilliant phone to have at its price but the camera is such a let-down that its case isn’t quite made. LG should seriously update the phone with a better camera to make the product a success.
