Instagram users will soon have the option to manually adjust the recommendation algorithm that suggests content for their feeds. Called the 'Reset Recommendations', the new feature is currently under testing. It seeks to provide a more secure experience, particularly for teenagers, helping them to see more appropriate content. With the new function, users will be able to start over with new content and refresh the suggestions they receive in Explore, Reels, and Feed. They will also have a chance to check the following profiles and unfollow any that provide content they no longer want to see.

Although the new Reset Content Recommendations function will help users arrange their Instagram feeds more correctly based on personal preferences, it will not delete any data from the app or change how the firm shows advertisements to users.
According to the company, the new feature plays a significant role in improving safety measures for young users by giving them more control over their accounts as their tastes evolve. While it targets the safety of young users more, the feature will be accessible to Instagram users of all age groups.
Right now, users can express interest or disinterest in a post, which influences recommendations for more content in the future. Using the "Hidden Words" tool, they can also weed out content that contains specific words or phrases. While these tools are designed for everyday use, the upcoming reset feature is for people who want a whole makeover of their suggestions.

It will provide a sigh of relief to users who face the issue of getting irrelevant stuff on their page based on interaction with a post or reel only once.
