When it comes to generate hype and product launches, China’s OnePlus is no exception. The brand is already famous for copying Apple iPhones and creating similar products at reduced price. And while yet to be launched OnePlus 6 is already been popular among users, the company has announced a strategic partnership with Marvel Studios.
The partnership will bring an Avengers-themed variant of the OnePlus 6. OnePlus says the partnership is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Marvel Studios, and that the collaboration "marks a step towards strengthening company’s association with Disney India" following the Star Wars tie-in last year.
“Marvel is one of the most recognised and respected international entertainment brands in the world. The brand's enduring success and unmatched popularity lies in its epic storytelling with human spirit. With its gigantic library of more than 8,000 characters including some of the most iconic Super Heroes in the world such as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and more, Marvel has amassed fans across boundaries and age-groups,” OnePlus said.
OnePlus' largest global market is India, followed by China, and it looks like the company will continue to focus its attention on these two markets for its limited-edition models. And similar to Star Wars variant of the OnePlus 5T, we believe Avengers-themed OnePlus 6 will be exclusive to the Indian market.
OnePlus' association with Marvel Studios is a manifestation of the enduring love and support they have garnered from its respective community over the years with a purpose to go beyond the ordinary and achieve ground breaking innovations in mobile technology only to create the best user experiences, the company added.
OnePlus 6 is expected to come with iPhone X like notch, 256GB storage and a flagship processor from Qualcomm. Earlier, the company has teased a small video of the upcoming smartphone on its official Twitter handle that reads “6et ready!”.

Why we believe OnePlus 6 is going to have a notch is because OnePlus founder Carl Pei in a statement to The Verge said that, “what you are essentially doing is moving the entire notification bar up, giving users more content on their screen."
OnePlus 6 will be powered by the new Snapdragon 845 chip, with up to 8GB RAM and will come with FHD+ super AMOLED display fitted into a 6.28-inch screen -- up from 5.99-inch in the 5T), thanks to the notch. There will be dual camera system (16MP f1.7 + 20MP f1.7), 3,450mAh battery and yes, the headphone jack is there to stay.
Since the launch of iPhone X, most smartphone manufacturers including Oppo, Vivo started copying the design language of the notch seen in iPhone X, but OnePlus is one such company that closely follows Apple. And just like Apple which releases one phone a year and a “S” variant next year, OnePlus releases two devices – one in May and an updated version in November/December. But what goes for OnePlus is that it does not revise prices for new devices.
