Huawei sub-brand Honor has started its year in India by launching three gadgets: a smartphone, a smart watch and a fitness band. First is Honor 9X smartphone that comes with a triple camera setup, and a full HD display. The second is Honor Magic Watch 2 that comes with GPS and sleep-related features, and the third is Honor Band 5i that is equipped with Bluetooth v4.2, and 5ATM water resistance.
The 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the Honor 9X can be purchased for Rs 13,999, and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 16,999. Customers have an option to choose from Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue colour options, and the handset will go on sale via Flipkart starting January 19 at midnight. Those who buy the phone can avail 10 per cent discount by using an ICICI Bank credit card and Kotak Mahindra debit or credit card.
The Honor Magic Watch 2 comes in two models: 46mm and 42mm. The 46mm model starts at Rs 12,999 (Charcoal Black) and goes up to Rs 14,999 (Flax Brown). The Agate Black variant of the 42mm model is priced at Rs 11,999, while the Sakura Gold version can be purchased for Rs 14,999. Both the models will be for grabs from January 18 for Amazon Prime members, and January 19 onwards for regular buyers.
The third gadget, Honor Band 5i, is priced at Rs 1,999 and will go on sale on January 18 for Amazon Prime members, and January 19 for non-Prime customers.
The Honor 9X sports a 6.59-inch full-HD+ display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 91 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710F mobile platform, and is paired with up to 6GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of onboard storage. The phone houses a 4,000mAh battery, and runs Android 9 Pie with the EMUI 9.1 skin on top. In the optics department, the handset comes equipped with a triple rear camera that includes a 48MP main shooter with AIS Super Night mode support. There is an 8MP wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is 16MP snapper in a pop-up camera module.
As mentioned, the Honor Magic Watch 2 comes in 42mm and 46mm models. The 42mmm model packs a round 1.2-inch AMOLED display with 390 x 390 pixels resolution. The company says that the wearable can deliver seven days of run time with heart rate monitoring and GPS activated, on a single charge. In comparison, the 46mm variant has a 1.39-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels and promises 14-day run-time. The wearable offers eight outdoor modes, seven indoor sports, virtual pace-setter, and heart rate monitoring.
The smartwatch comes with Huawei TruSleep 2.0 technology for diagnosing six common types of sleep disorders. There is Huawei TruRelax feature for stress monitoring, and Huawei TruSeen 3.5 technology is there for constant heart-rate monitoring. Those who purchase the Honor Magic Watch 2 will get a free Honor AM61 Bluetooth earphones. This offer will be live for Prime subscribers on January 18, and for non-Prime customers on January 19 till January 22.
The Honor Band 5i comes equipped with a 0.96-inch display with 160x80 pixels. It houses a 91mAh battery that is said to deliver up to nine days of run-time on a single charge. It packs a 3-axis inertial sensor, optical heart rate sensor, and infrared light wearing detection sensor. The wearable offers nine sports modes for fitness tracking. At the event, Honor also launched the Honor Sport Pro and Honor Sport Bluetooth earphones for Rs 3,999 and Rs 1,999, respectively.
