It is confirmed! Google will introduce the Pixel 9 series – the Pro and the Pro Fold – at Made by Google 2024 on August 13, 2024. This is unusual, given that Google usually hold its annual Made by Google event in October. This year's event will be held at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, California.
While the international market will witness the launch on August 13, the Pixel 9 series will be launched in our market the following day at 10.30 pm IST. Before that happens, Google has dropped a teaser video revealing the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro's raised camera model with rounded edges, housing three cameras, an LDE flash, and a temperature sensor. In addition, Google offers us a look at its second-generation foldable phone through another video – the 9 Pro Fold. Per the official teaser, the phone's camera module is positioned in the upper-left corner. It features three cameras, an LED flash, and a microphone.

The teaser also reveals the smartphone's foldable design with a raised, dual-level arrangement for lenses. While the teaser doesn't showcase an internal camera, previous leaks suggest that the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will get a screen cutout for the internal camera in the top-left corner, thereby providing an enhanced user experience. This is unlike the original Pixel Fold, which featured its internal camera on the bezel.
The Pixel 9 Series will also be integrated with its AI (artificial intelligence) assistant, Gemini. The 9 Pro Fold, a successor to the original Pixel Fold, is expected to come in Obsidian and Porcelain colour options, while the Pixel 9 Pro could be offered in Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, and Pink shades.

It is expected that Google will also unveil the Pixel Watch 3 at the upcoming Pixel hardware event, along with the upcoming Google flagship smartphones.
