Google has announced three AI-powered features to help users manage many tabs in the Chrome browser. To begin, tab groups—a feature formerly available on desktop and Android versions of Chrome—are now available for iOS. On iPhone and iPad, users can now set up a Tab Group by accessing the tab grid, long-tapping a tab, followed by choosing ‘Add Tab to New Group.’ They can also name and colour them. In addition, users can arrange the tabs according to their preferences once they are grouped. In contrast to Android, tabs cannot be dragged and dropped within the grid. Apart from tab groups, Google has also announced cross-device syncing for saved tab groups and page suggestions based on active tabs. These features are designed to better user experience across PCs, tablets, and phones.
Chrome is also working on a feature that will allow you to save and sync tab groups across desktop, iOS, and Android platforms. This will allow users to begin working on a project on one device and finish it on another without losing track of tabs or having to remember specific URLs. In a blog post, product manager Kayce Hawkins outlined the upcoming feature and said 'For example, imagine you’re casually looking up restaurants and activities on your phone as you start to plan out your itinerary for an upcoming trip. You realize you need a bigger screen to dig through all of your research, so you create a tab group to keep everything organized. The tab group will automatically sync to your desktop, so you can easily resume your trip planning journey when you open Chrome on your computer.'

Chrome is also testing the feature of suggesting pages to see again based on tabs that the user has viewed on other devices. With this, users won't have to worry about remembering URLs or bookmarking pages. While highlighting the convenience of this functionality, Hawkins said 'This can be especially helpful when you’re, say, browsing a website while at the office and need to get back to it on the commute home. There’s no need to bookmark the page or remember the exact URL, Chrome will proactively suggest pages to revisit on the Chrome New Tab page on Android, iOS, and desktop.'
