From OnePlus 7 to OnePlus 7T: What has changed?

OnePlus has finally launched the OnePlus 7T in India, and the company will now launch the handset along with the Pro variant at the Magazine London Theater on October 10 in London. But before the leaks and reports about the Pro variant fill the internet, we take a look at what has changed in the ‘T’ version of the OnePlus 7 smartphone. The handset comes with incremental updates in specifications as well as price.

OnePlus 7T specifications

The OnePlus 7T has been launched with a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. It sports a similar waterdrop notch and the display offers a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. Under the hood, the handset comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, which is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 855 SoC. It comes with 8GB RAM and an option to choose from 128GB or 256GB onboard storage. The phone houses a 3800mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T support. It is claimed to offer 23 per cent faster charging as compared to its predecessor.

When it comes to optics, the rear camera module is now circular and houses three sensors. The first camera has a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.6, lens featuring PDAF and OIS. There is a 12MP sensor with f/2.2 telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom, and the third one is a 16MP sensor with f/2.2 ultra-wide lens offering 117-degrees field-of-view. On the front is a 16MP sensor and it is situated in the waterdrop notch. The phone runs Android 10 making it the first phone to come installed with Android 10. The OnePlus 7T will be available in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage for a price of Rs 37,999 and 8GB RAM + 256B storage for Rs 39,999.

OnePlus 7 specifications

The OnePlus 7 was launched at a price of Rs 32,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant and users have to shell out Rs 37,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. The phone sports a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The smartphone comes with up to 256GB of onboard UFS 3.0 storage. The phone runs Android 9 Pie, and Android 10 coming soon to the phone.

When it comes to the camera, the phone features a dual rear camera setup. The primary camera has a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, with an f/1.7 aperture lens that comes with optical image stabilisation (OIS), electronic image stabilisation (EIS), and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). The secondary camera features a 5MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture lens. On the front is a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor which is housed in the waterdrop-shaped notch. The OnePlus 7 houses a 3,700mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.
