While the Apple iPhone SE 2 launch is still a couple of months away, case makers have already begun designing and manufacturing cases for the new devices.
Case makers often pre-design cases for the new iPhones well in advance based on rumours, leaks and renders by popular tipsters. Most of the time, the information leaked is accurate enough that these pre-designed cases fit well. Also, there's a lot of money in being one of the first companies to release a case for a freshly released iPhone.
The new affordable iPhone is said to be identical in design to the iPhone 8, thus, it does not pose much difficulty for case makers to take advantage of this design fact and ready cases for sale early.
Totallee, for instance, has already started pre-orders for an ‘iPhone SE 2’ case. Other sites including Alibaba and Amazon also have listed case on their platform. Totallee and other case manufacturers might not have full details on the new iPhone directly from Apple, and these early case designs are based on design leaks. Totallee is holding the sale on March 24, which is also the same date when Apple began iPhone SE pre-orders began back in 2017.
The iPhone SE 2 is also being referred to as iPhone 9 as Apple didn’t launch the iPhone 9 instead announced the iPhone X, marking the tenth anniversary of iPhones.
The iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 is expected to come with a 4.7-inch display and will be powered by the A13 Bionic chipset that is present in the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The smartphone is said to have 3GB of RAM.
According to the media reports, the iPhone SE2 will have Touch ID instead of 3D Touch and will use a 10-layer Substrate-like PCB (SLP) for motherboard design. This is the same technology Apple used in the iPhone 11 manufacturing.
The iPhone SE 2 is expected to come in silver, space grey and red colours.
