Notable changes include updates to app functionality, performance improvements, and bug fixes aimed at providing a smoother, more stable user experience. The beta also introduces enhanced features in areas such as privacy, security, and user interface. New Feature Updates

MacRumors reports that iOS 18.2 Beta 3 brings a host of updates, such as improvements to the Photos app's video player, a customisable navigation bar for the TV app on iPadOS, and expanded functionality for the Camera Control button, now supporting newer iPhone models.

Photos App Enhancement: After the significant redesign in iOS 18, some users expressed dissatisfaction with the Photos app’s video player. In response, the iOS 18.2 Beta 3 refines the video player, minimising the thick borders around videos for a better viewing experience.

Camera Control Update: The latest beta introduces a "Require Screen On" option for iPhone 16 users, located under Display & Brightness settings. Enabling this feature limits the Camera Control button’s functionality to when the screen is on, though users can choose to disable it for use when the screen is off.

CarPlay Icon Revamp: iOS 18.2 Beta 3 brings updated icons for the Climate and Media apps within CarPlay. These new icons will also appear in upcoming CarPlay-compatible vehicles, expected to be released by the end of 2024.

The iOS 18.2 update also comes with a revised AirDrop icon, now appearing in a darker shade when Dark Mode is enabled, fixing previous inconsistencies. It also resolves issues with Precision Finding on AirTags and the “Play Sound” feature for AirPods and third-party devices in the Find My network. The latest beta introduces new AI-driven features like Genmoji, a tool for creating custom emojis, and Image Playground, which lets users generate AI-based images from text prompts. Additionally, Siri now incorporates ChatGPT, allowing for more in-depth responses and content creation without needing an external account.

Along with iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, Apple has released new beta versions for macOS Sequoia 15.2, watchOS 11.2, tvOS 18.2, and HomePod Software 18.2. These updates are slated for an official release in December, offering a wide range of new features across Apple’s ecosystem.
