Soon after Reliance Jio announced its JioFiber broadband service, rival domestic telecommunications giant Bharti Airtel has introduced Xstream Fibre. The company says that its Xstream Fibre service will offer speeds of up to 1Gbps. Priced at Rs 3,999 per month, the service will come bundled with unlimited landline calls and #AirtelThanks benefits such as three months Netflix subscription gift, one year Amazon Prime membership and access to premium content from ZEE5 and Airtel Xstream app.
Starting today, the Airtel Xstream Fibre will available to homes, small offices and commercial establishments in Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. The Airtel Xstream Fibre will be rolled out in more markets in the coming months.
Just like Reliance JioFiber, the plans of the Airtel XStream Fiber broadband are available ata starting price of Rs 799. The base plan, called ‘Basic’, offers 100GB of data per month with speeds of up to 40Mbps, unlimited local and STD calls and an additional 200GB data for six months.
Next up is ‘Entertainment’ plan, which can be subscribed at a price of Rs 1,099. In this plan, Airtel is offering 300GB data per month with up to 100Mbps speeds. There is an additional 500GB bonus data for six months, as well as a free one year Amazon Prime subscription, three months of Netflix, and free access to Zee5 Premium and Airtel XStream content. The ‘Premium’ plan offers up to 300Mbps speeds with an FUP of 600GB for Rs 1599. It is same as the ‘Entertainment’ plan, except users will get an additional 1000GB bonus data for six months.
Those who need more speed can opt for either ‘VIP’ or ‘Ultra’ plan, which are priced at Rs 1,999 and Rs 3,999 respectively. Both of these are unlimited plans and come bundled with one year free Amazon Prime subscription, three months of Netflix and free access to Airtel XStream and Zee5 Premium content. While the VIP plan offers speeds of up to 100Mbps, the Ultra plan will offer speeds of up to 1Gbps.
When we compare these plans with those offered by Reliance JioFiber, we find that Airtel is also offering an option of unlimited data. However, with JioFiber, users have a lot of plan options to choose from.
All the JioFiber plans will come with free voice benefit, TV video calling, Norton device security for up to 5 devices. Also, post exhaustion of the data, the speed in the plans will drop to 1Mbps. JioFiber plans start from Rs 699 in which the company is offering up to 100Mbps. Under this plan, called ‘Bronze’, user have 100GB + 50GB data. Next is the Rs 849 prepaid JioFiber plan called ‘Silver’ in which the user will get 200GB data and an additional 200GB as a part of the introductory offer. A speed of up to 100Mbps will be offered in ‘Silver’ plan.
The ‘Gold’ plan offers 500GB of monthly data, and an additional 250GB of data at speeds of up to 250Mbps for Rs 1,299. Next up is Rs 2,499 ‘Diamond’ plan, in which 1250GB + 250GB of data will be offered at 500Mbps speeds. If your internet consumption is high, you can opt for Rs 3,999 ‘Platinum’ plan in which you will get up to 1Gbps speeds for 2500GB data. Jio is also offering ‘Titanium’ for Rs 8,499 in which, users will get 5000GB of data and up to 1Gbps speed.
